Three Months To Go: The Festival Countdown Begins!

šŸ Three Months to Go: The Festival Countdown Begins!
Behind the Scenes at Bee ValleyĀ

Celebrating the marriage of our lovely Katie and Caleb yesterday was an extra special time away from the farm. Ā It was such a privilege to be trusted to do their gorgeous flowers and so much love went into those. Ā This is us under the arch!

Now it’s back to flower farm business…

It’s hard to believe — just three months from now, we’ll be flinging open our garden gate for theĀ Centuria Taranaki Garden Festival, and Bee Valley will be in full spring swing!

Right now, it’s a beautiful kind of chaos behind the scenes. The to-do lists are long, the emails are flowing, and the kettle is never far from the boil. Here’s a peek at what we’ve been up to:

🌸 The Big Festival Prep List:

  • Finalising our tour route through the gardens (expect lemonade, mocktails, roses, and a few surprises…)

  • Planning country picnic spaces and how best to scatter picnic blankets in the sun

  • Hosting workshops (gathering everything we need and more, botanical candles, Christmas wreaths & PYO flowers – tickets are selling fast (get them on Eventfinda)

  • Meeting with the lovely folk from the NZ Bumblebee Conservation Trust to coordinate their buzzing visit

  • Liaising with festival organisers and fitting in interviews for articles and features

  • Dusting off our welcome signs, refreshing the drying shed, and deciding which patch gets a glow-up next

And of course, all of that is nestled in between our usual rhythm of sowing, weeding, pruning and mulching — with muddy boots, chilly fingers, and one eye always on the sky.

āœˆļø A Grand Adventure to Christchurch
In the middle of all this, we are planning something truly special — a trip to Christchurch with two of the grandsons,Ā their very first time on an aeroplane. This is a little reward for them for all the help they give us. Ā This trip will be a reminder that while our days are full of flowers and planning, it's the moments in between that bloom the brightest. Ā We will let you know how our adventure goes, wish us luck x

As we count down to spring, we’re feeling all the things — excited, grateful, maybe a little overwhelmed — but mostly just honoured to be part of something so special.
If you’re thinking of coming along, pop the dates in your calendar: October 31 to November 9. We can’t wait to welcome you to our happy little valley.

With muddy boots and hopeful hearts,
ChristinaĀ šŸšŸŒø
